Stronger Than Grief

Loss can be so harsh, it digs a wide hole,

rooted, in your soul.

Making your heart feel empty and lonely.

A deep hole, burrowed in so deep

there feels to be no heal.

Though the people you love

can repair you.

Maybe not all the way.

But they will slowly

stitch your body and your spirit.

When that gap is full again

you will live under four words.

Safety, health, happiness, and peace with your heart.

Problems might rise bigger than you.

But only you are the one that can choose to rise higher.

Basketball

Basketball is just like jazz
Its rhythm is unique
Defenders will lock you down like Alcatraz
Ball handlers will make you tweak

Be ready to close out
Or shooters will make it an easy blow out
You also need great teamwork
‘Cause that will always make the dreamwork.

Dining Table

The dining table is crazy
I’d rather listen to Jay-Z
The insanity makes it as crazy as a zoo
I think I’d rather catch the flu

The food is usually mediocre
It makes me as pale as The Joker
Plus there’s my sister
Who might be as annoying as a blister

off and On

Off and on
You would not really think of a lamp as something special.
But off and on it goes every time and it can turn on when you feel wrong.
Lamps have heat. They can warm up your feet like the sun.
So the lamp is way more than you think.
A lamp is beautiful and can help you in many ways.
Lamps have power.
Lamps have light.
And lamps help life be life.

Star Wars

Bam! Boom! Bop! Boba’s blastin’, beware!
Tarkin’s talkin’ to a trooper.
AArghRr! Goes Chewy like a bear.
ZZZVVV! Goes a light saber.
Your lack of faith disturbs me!
I hope space doesn’t make you ill!
The light side is the good guys, can’t you see?
Who’s paying the Death Star’s electric bill?

Green

Green looks like the twinkling shine on the hot summer grass.
Green sounds like the calming low croak of a frog.
Green smells like the wavering smell of a mint leaf sitting on a branch, waiting to be picked.
Green tastes like the sweet and sour taste of a sour apple, it nearly tastes like candy.
Green feels like the smooth surface of a blade of grass brushing up against your leg in the wind.

Winter

I can see winter.
I can see all the big and small, rough and smooth icicles hanging on trees. I can see all the lights on the trees flashing from red to green. I can see snow men all around ,and kids playing in the puffy white snow.

I can smell winter.
I can smell fresh cake coming out of the blazing hot oven. I can smell creamy cherry pie coming from my neighbors open window. I can smell candy and sweets all around.

I can hear winter.
I can hear snowballs pounding against big houses, then more cloud- like snow is tossed. I can hear happy children running across snowy yards. I can hear choirs singing beautiful Christmas carols.

I can taste winter.
I can taste sugary ginger bread men melting in my mouth. I can taste all the little snowflakes falling on my tongue. I can taste the steaming hot hot cocoa, as I savor every last drop.

I don’t need a calendar to know it’s winter!

Violins

So delicate so calm,
You feel like you’re drawn
To the sound of love,
Straight from above.
The animals outside start to dance.
They are as elegant as butterflies.
From soft silent snails,
To Pretty big bears.
The bow goes Swish, Swish making the music go on,
Now next time you play,
Make sure not to drift away!
