I am a flame.
I give you warmth and light.
On cold winter nights I am constantly moving,
Showing dances of where I am from.
You talk and sing while I am close by.
You can never lose me.
I might put out a spark if you put too much butter on the bread in the toaster oven.
I don’t think I am a danger to you,
But you scream and put the cold form of my enemy on me where you touch me.
I don’t like it when I am told to be safe around.
If you were wondering, my greatest enemy is water.
Water stops my warmth and light.
My second greatest enemy is sand.
But you,
You want my warmth and light,
So you won’t stop me.
