Slow changes

I am trying my hardest to become more than who I am.
I’m doing it for you. Please try to understand.
The metamorphosis you hate
Is the change that puts food on your plate.
And the words that settle like frost
so cold
Are the words that have held you
as you grow old.
The hands that are rough try to be gentle for you
But I’m sorry if the transition isn’t always so smooth.
I know that you’re young.
But I’m still young, too.
And the fear that you feel
Is fear we both share.
The nights that you hate spending
alone
Are the nights that I’m working
to give you a home
And a tomorrow
That will love you as much as I do.

Overcome

Something we all have…

Some choose to deny it

Some choose to embrace it

Some are conquered by it

And some make it their everything to conquer it

We are consumed by it

Our biggest obstacle

No escaping, no hiding

But those who choose to vanquish this from their lives

Are the ones that succeed

But that is a feat of the greatest lengths

Even the greatest of people try this journey of astronomical proportions

And come back empty-handed

We have to break through

We have to realize it can’t hold us

So many people try to find a solution

But people have to understand, there is no formula

So many inspirations yet so many infections

There is no cure, to this virus that everyone has had since the beginning

It is what has made us the way we are, cautious, afraid, careful

People feel like they’re on the edge

People feel like their not good enough

People are trapped by their own thoughts

People are held back

It does that to everyone, no matter who you are

Fear

Hope

I gaze into the darkness
Watching my step
Anything can happen in the darkness of trees
Waiting before me is what I have long lingered for
Hope
To much can end badly
But just enough
Can set me free
I reach out to g r a b it but nothing
Then I realize it has always just been me

Long Walk

Walking down to the old street,
Hearing voices, smelling scents of fall.
Winter will be here soon.
Birds flying across the sky,
I really want to rise up high.

Down there,
there’s houses painted in red,
Down there,
Who will be led?
Flowers growing wildly,
Like the end of the dryly,
Dryly summer.

When or where have I came to?
That little girl holding balloons says so too.
“It’s beautiful,”
I lowered my head,
“What is?”
And she takes the lead,
to the end of the corner,
opened the gate door,
to a place with full of flowers.
“These, oh, and the world.”

Back again on this street,
Birds chirping around the old trees.
Feels familiar,
End of another fall,
winter, and spring

Kindness

Kindness is a flower,
when it blooms
it spreads,
like seeds in the wind

Kindness can be wilted like a flower without water,
by insecurities of those who crush with
mean remarks
leaving people out

But it can be grown
into something new

Kindness is everywhere,
compliments
apologies
laughs

It’s possible to spread kindness,
if all we do is try
by spreading seeds of kindness

Beach

The sand tickles between my feet
The palm trees start to dance in the wind
My family and I sit and relax to the sun’s soothing heat
The ocean waves pounce on the sand
The sand always pushes the waves back again and again
There are the seagulls that rise in the air, with their wings in full command
I suck in the sweet smell of paradise like a whale coming out of the water for air
With seashells peeking out of the light colored sand
And the dolphins leap out into the ocean with bits of joy bursting out into the air
My sisters and I SHRIEK as stingrays pass us in the water
We burst out into a run toward the sand like a cheetah running after it’s prey
Once they are gone we drag our dad with us so he can have fun with his daughters.

Christmas Day

On this crystal cheerful day
Is a tree bright as santa’s sleigh

Snow falling from the sky
As it melts I sigh

Wishing this day would slow down
My face slowly turns into a frown

My parents tuck me in my bed
I rest my eyes and rest my head

Dreaming about a year from today
When Christmas is back and I can shout HOORAY!

Sun Kissed Memories

There was once a time

Where I resented those sun kissed memories

Ones where I sat under and azure sky

And let rose petals flood my vision

A place where tomorrow was reminiscent

Of a time before nothingness

And I was ignorant

To the woe

Of watching those roses

Wilt and fade

Ups and Downs

Friendship is a seesaw.
It has ups and downs,
it could leave somebody in the ground
but it is a fun adventure,
just like a puzzled picture.

Friendship seems to last in the air for eternity,
but does it in reality?
Sometimes if you take it too far,
you might end up breaking it apart.

Friendship can lead back to memories
like the ones in good stories.
Even though it might not seem true
there is always a way back to you.

SWINKIE

the orange and yellow whirls all on its surface
is the sleek clear wrapper
that will scamper to the trash
it reveal a delicious treat
its bright yellow flames
are the sweet chewy
golden outside cake
its rays
are the aroma it gives off
its core made of
deadly gases
is the fluffy frosted filling
that melts in your mouth

To me
The sun is a
Twinkie
