In The Garden

Sitting in the garden.
Listening to the birds.
Such pretty songs they sing,
Even though there are no words.
Along comes a lady bug looking for aphids.
I lay my hand on the stone next to her,
And she climbs onto my finger.
She waits a moment
Then flies away.
Good day
Good day!

Walking in the Night.

we’re going camping! as you can see! Grab a flash light for you and me. Let’s wait for the moon, hey, look here it is! turn on the light, shine it in every nook. hey, there’s a raccoon eating garbage by the light of the moon. chee, chee! the bats are playing happily. I’m guessing that they are eating bugs. We return to the tent, mom is sipping coffee out of a mug. Then she said “what did you see?” I said,”What nature has in store for me!”

Echo (Echo)

The mirror and I are related
in the sense that we both reflect (reflect)
It’s an image the mirror has created
while for me, it’s sound I erect (erect)

Have you ever yelled “Hello!” in a cave
and hear me answer, never to lack (lack)?
That was caused by many a sound wave
bouncing off a surface and back (back)

Whenever this happens it seems to fill you with joy (joy)
so you call again and again
not caring if you begin to annoy (annoy)
even if it does so to a thousand men

So next time you stop by
make sure to be ready for fun (fun)
for when you cheer into the sky
The fun we’ll have is sure to stun (stun)

Splash! Splash!

Splash! Splash!
The ocean is having a smash!
Sea shells all along the ground
Washed up with a great big sound.
In the coral reef so many colors to see!
Come on down to the sea.
See for one and see for all
Its so much better than shopping at the mall!

Poetry is Beautiful

Poetry, it’s beautiful!
It’s loving but can be danger full
From snake hisses to boy and girl kisses
It always turns out fine.
Get someone to share it with, because not only is it mine
Its for you and we can make some too
If everybody would work together,
We could make the world better, all through poetry.

Colorado

Colorado
Filled with D a n c i n g snow
Skiing
Falling
Headfirst
As if rehearsed
Frostbites on your toes
Wintery wind blows
Freezing your rosy pink nose
Wishing you were home
With your bath filled with foam
Looking out the window
Drinking your hot coco
Colorado
Filled with dancing snow

The Sea

Big hands
Rise
Out of the darkness
Grabbing for me
Pulling me in, clutching at the sand
I resist, until I can’t any longer
I let it pull me in
Sinking deeper and deeper into the darkness,
Pushing up, struggling for breaths
Taking control, but this is
Me, not you
I will not let you consume me
Taking my strength
I turn you from a black hole,
Dark and
Endless
Into a peaceful creature
A purring kitten,
A sweet lullaby
Surrounding me

Mountain Woman

Mountains groaned beneath her fists
Rock split open, but still in vain
She cried in pain

They sat on top, amused
To a will that’s abused

Rise
Rise above
Herself
Still, she wished she could love
Herself

Her life ran between
A mountain turned ravine

What flowed into it
Proved to be impertinent

There to reel
Especially to Steal

So she swore
To be taken advantage of no more

Her palms, hard and calloused
Held a need for self-assurance
Her armour granted endurance

Weaponized
And ready to fight the lies

That you must never leave
Alone is too worse to conceive

That you’ll regret your decision
Your future, consisting of only divisions

So scream and shout
To those who may doubt

What you never needed
Was a soul not nurturing and conceited

Herself, welded with confidence
And plenty of competence

Palms pressed two halves together
Made a noise that was confused for bad weather

The Mountain was glued
She never needed to be two

And proudly she told
That she was already whole

Masterpiece

Pick up a pencil,
let’s create together,
Color our world,
let’s go on an adventure

Paint over the
Black, white and faded grays,
We’re going to make
a new world today

Turn the dull colors
into bright shades and hues,
Fall in love,
with the beautiful views

So, pick up a paintbrush,
and come paint with me,
Together, we can
create a masterpiece

I am Fire

I am a flame.
I give you warmth and light.
On cold winter nights I am constantly moving,
Showing dances of where I am from.
You talk and sing while I am close by.
You can never lose me.
I might put out a spark if you put too much butter on the bread in the toaster oven.
I don’t think I am a danger to you,
But you scream and put the cold form of my enemy on me where you touch me.
I don’t like it when I am told to be safe around.
If you were wondering, my greatest enemy is water.
Water stops my warmth and light.
My second greatest enemy is sand.
But you,
You want my warmth and light,
So you won’t stop me.
