Friendships are like a glass,
Take care of them and they’ll last forever.
Break them, and it can be impossible to put them back together.
Friendships are like plants,
Water them and soil them and give them love,
And they’ll last,
For a while…
Truth be told some only last as long as that mac’n cheese in your fridge,
But some last as long as a family heirloom.
It’s your decision, or it’s not.
Learn to love, but also to let go.
Hang on to the best ones like you hung onto the monkey bars.
You can be stubborn, but not picky.
Because once they’re gone,
They’re not back in the picture for a while,
Or ever again.
Friendships are like a bicycle,
Once you’re up, you’re up for life.
Riding straight onto a clear path,
Well that’s what you’ll think.
You’ll hit problems along the way, like those annoying rocks, twigs, and bumps on the street.
But once you’re over them, they’re behind you.
You can repair them if the damage isn’t bad.
But if you wreck them they really can’t be fixed.
Years and years of love and loyalty washed away from one mistake,
Or two or three…..
Don’t make that mistake.
Hold on.
Tightly.
Think in the moment.
Cherish your time.
Like it’s all you’ll ever have.
For soon there will be none.
None of what you may ask?
Well.
You’ll see.
