Rain

Outside is a cluttered jungle of rain, the tall trunks of water
Reaching up to the leaves, the crown of the tree, the cloud
That canopies over the sky, looming over everything, from the ground it is a dark cave, where there is no light.

Out through the window the pearls come fast, with the reflecting light
Shining through them, and a rainbow growing in a spray of water.
Inside is like being enveloped in a snug and cozy cloud.

After, a fog has settled on the ground, like the clouds
Have come down to say hello, at last the light
Comes peering through, iridescent on the fog’s droplets of water.

A perfect morning, full of forests of water, snug clouds, and sparkling beads of light falling.
