Time

Autumn leaves falling, a chilly breeze.
22, the day I was born.
No siblings: only kid at home.
Family always over: spending time together.

Started volleyball at 6 years old.
Wasn’t good at first: practiced a lot .
First the YMCA, then made regional .

Elementary school brought some new friendships.
Some to last, some to leave.
Some are my best friends today.
Graduated elementary: on to middle school.

Weekends always full, no more freetime.
School fills the weekdays, getting busy.
What will people think of me?

The world around me moving fast.
Time doesn’t wait just for you.

A trip out west

rain pelts the dirt
cars blur by
Mountains with trees stacked and packed
the world feels so small and so empty of meaning

cars blur by
my tears drop on leather seats
the world feels so small and so empty of meaning
smells of pine and vodka

my tears drop on leather seats
neon gas station signs and yellow painted streets
smells of pine and vodka
it’s a beautiful pocket of world

neon gas station signs and yellow painted streets
i feel unbearably alone
it’s a beautiful pocket of world
my head hurts and my heart burns

i feel unbearably alone
rain pelts the dirt
my head hurts and my heart burns
Mountains with trees stacked and packed

Creatures Unlike Us

Deep down in the forest live creatures with freedom
With confidence with hope
Creatures unlike you but still similar
Because they are different it doesn’t mean they are bad or poisonous
But beautiful and loving
Sure they protect themselves but you are probably unusual
Learn about them care for them and they will with you

My Version Of The Fault In Our Stars

Where I’m from by: Hazel Grace

I’m from the hospital.
The oxygen tank I bring with me everywhere.
The stares I get wherever I go.
From the worried looks on my parent’s faces whenever I’m upset.

I’m from the cancer support group.
From the thought I could die at any moment.
I am from Augustus words.
“That’s the thing about pain it demands to be felt”

I’m from the “Ok” being our “Forever”
The book I showed him the day we met.
When I traveled to Amsterdam and when we ate at Orangee.
I am from stale cookies and fake smiles.

Im from the happiness I feel in my heart
The adrenaline going through my body.
I’m from a roller coaster of emotions
From Issac’s bad jokes

I am from protectiveness and comfort
I am far from freedom
From my heartbroken heart when you had to leave me.
I’m from my experiences

How do we Celebrate

How do we celebrate flying cars when forests are on fire?
Why do we live our lives like everything’s fine, when our cars, planes and factories are making gas levels higher and higher?
We can celebrate a Covid vaccine, but never think of the starving people who eat nothing more than a bean.
We’re sending people to space and to Mars, all the way up in space.
But we never consider this horrible place.
Of death, pain and fear.
And soon all those people, saying the end is near,
Will be right.
Unless we can muster the might
To end the doom we’re making
And the world will be a better place,
With an end to the breaking.
But we still choose to ignore,
Making great wrongs seem a bore,
And we could end the blood and gore,
If we didn’t just snore,
And we helped heal what’s broken,
We could fix all the problems unspoken.

Sunlight and darkness

I see three cups,
YES,
Three cups filled with sun.
YES,
sunlight.
And above those cups filled with sunlight i see a branch,
YES.
a branch.
on top of that branch are three birds,
YES,
three birds.
and those three birds are filled with darkness
YES
DARKNESS.
and above those birds filled with darkness is the sun, and dark
YES
SUN and DARK.
the sun is filled with sunlight
YES
MUCH sunlight.
And the dark is filled with darkness
YES
MUCH darkness.

The World

The world shall end
without any warning
The world shall end
in a blink of an eye.
The sky will crash
onto this world
and obliterate
the anger
hatred
jealousy
sadness
worry.

The world shall end
and be reborn again
into a new beginning.
A world with
peace
love
joyfulness
happiness
wonder.

The world shall soon change
into a world with laughter
and tears.
A world with
anger
and forgiveness.

A world
full,
of hope.
