Another Day

You wake up.
You look around your cramped, wooden room in your house.
You’re still tired, despite just waking up.
The morning sun shines through your window, onto your face.
You sit up.
The autumn air flows through your abode.
It smells sweet to you.
Fills you with joy.
You turn around and put one foot on the floor.
Then the other.
Stars fill your head as you get overtaken by vertigo.
You sat up too quickly.
You lie back down on your comforter.
You watch the ceiling spin in slow circles.
You watch as the feeling of falling never slows down.
You watch as the world goes on without you,
For another day.

Girl Inside Of Me

Have you met The girl on the outside
The girl inside of me? is not nearly as perfect

She is honest She is clumsy
And polite And shy
She never picks a fight And forgets half the time

She is loyal She lies
And brave And cheats
Stands tall for what is right And is selfish for a beat

A mask She always longs
She wears To do what is right
Whenever she has fright

But she is never like
The girl on the inside

Abstract

My poor abstract brain is a mess
With boxes and boxes and piles of stress

A jumble of colors, of numbers, of names
With faces and places all much the same

Equations and times and lists of chores
And silver dust pattern marks on the floors

Someday I shall unbox an eternity
But for now it will stay a war of uncertainty

A World Away

Come
Come across the roaring waves
And the thirsty desert
All the same

A lantern in the woods
Lights my darkened soul
And your smile of long summer days
Gathers dust in my memory

But the shimmering narrative of hope
Glints in all of the colors of the wind
As you set sail
Into the harbor of my heart

My favorite time of the year

It’s the time of the year when we all gather
How on the day we all hope there is snow
But cold, we’ll run in to sit by the fire

We’ll eat ham and pie and in the background hear the crackling fire
We’ll laugh and open neatly wrapped gifts as we gather
Small pecks on the window as winter says hello using its crisp white snow

Its cold and windy and bells ring and blankets of snow
Fall, fall, fall and melt by the rich warmth of the fire
Songs will be sung, memories will be made, and families will gather

We huddle, gather, protected from the snow, and comforted by the fire.

The Beach

Flip-Flops going bop bop on the smooth
Sand the tide is rising up
Crab holes in the sand

Building sandcastles with the wet sand
Then BOOM! someone kicks the wet smooth,
Sand the waves come in and goes up

All of a sudden BANG! Someone goes up,
And over the wave then I run through the sand
This is why I love sand that’s smooth.

Live. Love. Football.

Football is my life
Play some every day, love it
Hits, scratches and all

I love it so much
Will never put the ball down
Never have and won’t

I love the feeling
Soaring down the field to score
Always have a dance

Just got a touchdown
Celebrating with my team
Jumping up and down

Never had a bro
Football’s always there for me
Football I love you

Snow, Heat, Cold

The white specs of Snow,
Melt from the Heat,
But the outside still Cold.

The house is freezing Cold,
Because of the Snow,
But with the fire for Heat.

I hear the crackle then I feel the Heat,
My heart still Cold,
As I feel the silent whisper of Snow.

Snow, Heat, Cold

Sun lonely while Stars play

Light bright as day brings new stars
The cool Summer of the day
The evening time of stars

The time of night, ready like evening stars
The stars are gone done with playing now sun bright like light
Once 1st now 2nd day

The true time of the day
true and bright like summer stars
The brightest tune of the day bright like light

The bright light, the true time of day, brings Milkyway stars to play

Before it’s all Over

You’re falling,
You’re falling through time.
You’ve been grasping for a future that was never there.
A life you loved rips and shatters.

The bright sun that used to warm your face starts to crumble
And break before your eyes.
The hope you had of living bends and twists.
The sick feeling in your gut races throughout your veins
All the way up to your skull.

Then just for a moment all of the timelines of your life
Fade in around you.
And you watch in grief as you stare blankly
At all of the futures you could have lived.

The sun and moon, The earth and wind,
The one last finger that was holding on to your old self
Slips from reach.
And as black stormy clouds engulf you,
You smile one last time,
Before it’s all over.
