Goodbye

Goodbye
By Eleanor Martin

Goodbye to the careless days of childhood,
when all I wanted was to see a unicorn.
Goodbye to the schoolwork I’ve held onto since Pre-K,
things I don’t remember doing.
Goodbye to the bandaids I’ve freakily kept
(no remorse there)
Goodbye to the old cosmetics,
that turns my bathroom counter into an ocean of skincare.
Goodbye to the old friends,
whose names I don’t remember
Goodbye to the ancient bag of chips in the back of the pantry,
a weird flavor nobody likes.
Goodbye to all the memories I’ll still hold onto forever.
