Beautiful Us

The sun rises in the east and sets in the west.
At night the moon rises in the sky.
Who am I?
Me! Beautiful me. You! Beautiful you.
We are all different that’s what make us all unique.
We are all special in every way.
We shine like the sun.
We are all happy, sad, angry, scared. It is okay.
You are you. No one can change that.
You can be anything you want.
Just believe in yourself.

Winter Break

Winter is getting as cold as a freezer
In time, the lakes will ice.
Now we need to buy warm blankets,
To sleep like a bear.
Early morning tells you to sleep more;
Resting feels like being in heaven.

But it is time to party!
Right now the harsh wind warns you to stay inside with friends,
Eating food that is as warm as a summer day
And play as much as you can.
Kindle a fire to keep you warm!

This Voice

Soft and quiet,
Becomes loud and fierce.
My voice, me,
Your voice, you,
Their voice, them,
This voice, a mystery.
Traveling around the world,
This voice reaches everyone.
This voice changes everyone.
This voice is loud and strong,
About change.
This voice can be big,
And this voice can be small.
This voice can be you.

The Owl

The owl perches on the tree, you body fills with slightest glee.
His eyes stare down at you, gleaming yellow.
You reach your hand out, it feels like jello.
To your surprise, he flies down low and lands upon your shoulder so.
His wingspan big, his heart so small but filled with so much love for all.
He spots some mice and grabs them tight and puts them in his nest for the night.
He soars up into the air and floats up there looking down at your hair.
“Come down!” you say looking his way.
He flaps his wing as if to say, “so long!”
You wave your hand but you were wrong. You hear a peep and kind of cheap and a baby chick pops our of the nest.
Then he comes to rest upon a vest, you notice was hanging from a branch facing towards the west.
“Hoot, hoot” they call out into the moonlight.
You stay there for the rest of the night, clutching yourself tight.

Heritage

Heritage reminds us about our culture, race, and history
It lets us embrace our past, present, and future stories that will be passed on throughout our generations, so we can learn about our own nations
Heritage is who we are, where we come from, and what we believe in
Whatever people tell you, having different cultures is definitely not a sin
So, you should be proud of your race, history, and heritage!

Cabin in the Woods

Going back to the cabin in the woods
Where none can see
The Ranger hides there in disguise
Like a ghost or a spy

For my reader I tell
The information I shall sell
Of training for five years
To give enemies ghostly fears

In year one you learn to
Finish the cleaning mentors can’t do
Come year two you will learn
The skills every archer yearns

Year three out and in-
Apprentices ,mentors like fire in the kitchen
In year four the year shall fill
Perfect every single skill

In year five
Apprentices strive
Use your knife in it’s sheath
To earn your silver oakleaf

The Disastrous Dinner

Everybody’s rushin’ round,
This disastrous kitchen is full of sound.
Pans clashing,
People dashing.
Trying to get Christmas dinner on the table,
Everyone helps as long as they’re able.
One hour has passed,
We must work fast!
There are only five more minutes,
We are working to our limits!
Bang! A pan of spaghetti hits the floor,
Now in minutes we only have four!
Clash! Two people hit their spoons together,
The two spoons break and fall to the floor as light as feathers.
Christmas dinner should have been ready,
But I can tell we won’t be having homemade dinner already.
That dinner was disastrous,
We ended up getting fast food, just disastrous!

The Schedule

It’s 8:00 I’ve got to mop!
It’s 8:30 I’ve got to hurry!
It’s 9:15 I’ve got to clean!
It’s 9:45 High Five!
It’s 10:00 Is the door locked?
It’s 10:30 “Oh, Look! Hey, little birdie!”
It’s 11:00 . . . Hey!

This is a very boring schedule!
I think I’ll just . . .

It’s 8:00 No need to mop!
It’s 8:30 I’m not in a hurry!
It’s 9:15 I’m not going to clean!
It’s 9:45 High Five!
It’s 10:00 The door is locked!
It’s 10:30 “Oh, Look! Hey, little birdie!”
It’s 11:00 Time for fun!
Whoops, I messed up the rhyme,
But good news, my poem is done!

All the Ways We Are Different

Wheelchairs,
Down syndrome.
Asthma,
Diabetes.
Dyslexia,
Autism.
Tourette’s Syndrome,
ADHD.
Scoliosis,
Hard of Hearing.
We are all different on the outside,
But on the inside, we’re the same.
Even when you get teased,
You’re amazing.
Even if you look different,
You’re amazing.
When you are different,
You can be proud,
Because you are you,
And there is nothing that you should change.
Because the way you are right now is who you are meant to be.
