Amazed

As I watch the
screen,three years
flash before my
eyes. Defeat,
loss, disappointment,
blow outs, that’s
all the last three
seasons had been
about. But suddenly
everything changed
something happened
that was far too
strange. Crowds erupted, win streaks had been interrupted,
and suddenly everything that I had come accustomed to
was incredibly different. Signs reported “Broncos Win”
newsman had said that they had defied all odds and everything
had suddenly changed. Hopes, Wins, Doubt, had all been crushed as
the clock hit double zero. Everything that I had known about the past three seasons had all been changed. All the dissappointment, loss, defeat, all had been changed.

And while
the future
does not
look quite
as bright
as those shining
lights at that
moment, for
now I can just be
Amazed.

Caught

I stand there as guns boom
People run by
Blood and tears soaked the land
Where so many people have died
Screams of pain
Screams of war
The killing
The hurt
Hundreds of men on the floor
Clawing at the blood stained Earth
Was this how all humanity would perish
Something grabs my leg
A boy
About fifteen
His shirt has blood
Children cry
He looks at me with pale blue eyes struggling to find life
To survive
The sky is no longer pale blue like his eyes
It is red as the land
The ocean
The blood
Animals lay wounded
Caught in the arms of death
As the whole Earth seemed to tremble
As it takes it’s final breath

The Black Waters

There were voices as I sank

Mumbled voices rippling through the black waters

I’m helpless to do anything as the darkness swallows me up

Depending on air to breath I had no chance of survival

Water filled my nose

My lungs

There was no light

Only darkness escaping from the depths

I lay there motionless

Then

He comes

I had imagined

Him to be a light

So bright you couldn’t see

His features

But instead

He had white robes on

And bare feet

He pressed down on my chest

And filled my lungs with air I stood at the bottom of the

Atlantic Ocean

Unable to speak but alive

I breathed the salty current

I felt the endless waters

It was time to go

And I knew it

I took His hand

And closed my eyes

I woke

I was laying on grass

Crystal flowers around me

Colors you couldn’t imagine

I stood up

And looked around

If you saw what I saw

Would you believe it

No Because you haven’t seen it yet

The weight that pulled me from the back

The softest feathers tickling my arms

Wings

The most marvelous wings

I soared high into the sky

Twirling and spinning

There was nothing to slow me down

The joy

The happiness

That now filled me to the brim

But I looked back

Oh how I wish

I hadn’t looked back

For what I saw brought sadness back into my heart

Like a door opening

With inviting hands

Earth

It’s blue waters

And green land

Now was behind me

Small as it was

Blackness surrounded it

Shrouded it in a thick blanket of dark

Nyc

Nyc
I stroll through the streets of Nyc,
like walking down an aisle of a shopping store
admiring the old and new buildings,
like different colored cans on a shelf.

As I ride down the road,
looking on at the restless sky,
I wonder when this dream will end.
Until.
I realize.
I am already at home.
In bed.
Dreaming.
