Beauty Beyond Skin

Sometimes beauty goes
deeper within,
Sometimes life goes running
down fast, like a roller
coaster,
Sometimes things get out of
Hand,
Sometimes…you just want to give up.
But, if everybody were to
quit when they get lost and
upset,
There would be no
happiness, hope, or peace
in this world.
These are the times people
tend to look within,
To find inner beauty, to find
peace,
To see things they’ve
never noticed before,
And out of their mistakes
they’ve made,
This is one thing they didn’t
do wrong.

Perfect?

Life may seem perfect on
the outside for some,
So beautifully perfect,
From top to bottom,
And bottom to top.
But, if you look inside them,
On the inside deep within,
Sadness is hidden well,
Tucked within,
Locked within,
Chains tying away the
negative thoughts that had
once crossed their mind,
A feeling of unhappiness…
that never goes away,
A feeling of helplessness…

Sometimes you have to just look
within,
Notice something you didn’t before,
know when something’s going wrong or right…
Because some need do help,
But, don’t know how to ask…

My Mom

My Mom

A life without you is like the darkest of skies,
With no moon, no stars no meteorites.
We could not see nor do anything,
Without you, we would be nothing,

You are like the North Star, brilliant and bright,
Guiding people everywhere, all through the night.
You are also like the moon, with its luminous glimmer,
Giving assurance to all, even if you cannot be there.

You are like the stars, each one part of a bright light regime,
You are the shooting stars, which grant people’s dreams
You are all of this and more than I can even say,
You light up the entire sky, and you light up my day!

To Those Who Matter

Why should I try
To be famous?
To ‘fit in’?
To be ‘cool’?
Why should I try
To be what I’m not
To be cold when I’m hot?
Is this what I want?
To be chained by one’s thought?
To be loved for who I’m not?
To let my value be determined what I wear?
When really, I should be valued by
What I share
How much I care
Who I am inside
Why should I try
To be famous?
To be who I’m not?
For I am already famous
To those who matter
More than
To those who do not.

Snowercoaster

Skiing is like a roller coaster,
Controlled by your feet
Quickly slic ing down the mountain
Rapidly screaming

the hill
Without one tiny SCREECH!
The glistening piles of snow are your rails,
though much less predictable
You power down the trail,
Getting nearer to the end,
You slide to a stop with a plume of snow,
a shower of sparks,
A hiss of brakes,
Your feet pushing against the momentum
Grinding slowly to a stop
Using your skis to rain down powder.
All of this,
Just
To
Do
It

Beautiful Monsters

Pretty clothing and
Loving words
Words that make you swell with
Happiness and pride
Words that make you feel
Loved and appreciated
Words that make you feel
Lucky and desired

They’re so beautiful
Picture perfect
Their smiles so sincere
And welcome
Clothing flawless
And unwrinkled

They put on a show
For the public
Stares of envy and awe
Follow you
And you smile
Because you have to
Because you have to

Because if you don’t
Put on your show
They’ll kill you
In a thousand
Little ways

They’ll hurt you
Beat you
Until your body’s
Black and blue
Until you’re nothing
But a shivering shadow
On a cold
Dark ground

They’ll make you feel
As if it’s your fault
It’s all your fault
As if you’re too weak
And ungrateful

And you’ll believe them
Every little word
Because they are
Your gods
Your life
Your survival

And yet their threats still
Ring in your ears
Their harsh words
Lashing mercilessly
Invisibly
Against your skin
Their laughs of
Ridicule ricochet harshly
Angrily
Through your mind

So you’ll take their hands
Obediently
And you’ll smile
Smile as hard as you can
And let them dress you up
And whisper sweet nothings in your ears
And let them show the world the perfect you
And hide away the broken one
The real one

And you’ll let them
Beat you
Batter you
Bruise you
And you’ll still smile
All the way through

But you don’t blame them
They’re Monsters
And that’s
What Monsters
Do

Winter Dread

The bright sun shines above
Walking on the beach I so love
The cool breeze hits my face
While strolling with a steady pace
The refreshing waves CrAShInG at my feet
Where my toes and the sand meet
Oh it’s so fun to play
On a nice summer day

The longer days no longer live
The cold simply will not give
Shorter days lie ahead
Mittens for hands and hat for head
Winter feels like jail
Three long months until bail
Gone are the days that forgive
I yearn for the day to again live

The Comforting Thunderstorm

The comforting thunderstorm
Was loud as my sister wasn’t comforted
BOOM! Kept coming coming as it got loud

But I wasn’t scared by the loud
Strikes that came along the thunderstorm
I was never scared as I was was comforted

I wanted to be more comforted
Sooner or later IT wasn’t loud
I said hi to the rain and bye to the thunderstorm

I said bye to the thunderstorm, and was perfectly comforted, as the darkness came and know you’re not loud
