Poetry

Every verse is weird to write
nothing I put down sounds right
Poetry urges me to fight
I fight how the dark fights light

I have no muse
I have no news
I have no clues
And I have the blues

I don’t have the composition
Other poets are magicians
I have the ambitions
But nothing comes to fruition

THE GRAND CANYON

“Kaw” goes the canyon birds as they fly over the red-orange horizon
There is nothing in sight except for tumble weeds and bushes on the open terrain
The sound of the wind blowing fills my ears like the music of Joseph Haydn
The bright orange waves of the canyon are something only its gorges can contain

The aroma of Evergreen trees and dry grass floods your nose
Battered mules carry exhausted hikers up the canyon trail
The faded native art looks like its colors were washed down with a hose
The moonlight covers the canyon’s colors in its veil

viven y mueren.
Tienen una vida.
A veces una vida fugaz.

En vez de estrellas fugaces
veo los sentimientos de las luces.
En vez de la luna
veo honestidad, esperanza
y verdad.

Hoy es la Noche Buena
la noche de ver más allá
que solo el cielo de la noche.
Más allá de las estrellas,
es el tiempo de ver la verdad
que es lo que mas importa.

Tyranny

Depression is a tyrant
Always taking
Never giving
No release from its powerful jaws
No escape from its heated intensity
Taking over MY body
Making choices for me
Stabbing my heart, head and being
Gaining power
Gaining strength
Depression is a soul sucking leech
In the movies good usually wins
But the world isn’t a movie
Depression always wins
Because
Depression is a tyrant
Always…
Taking…
Never….
Giving…

Now

I used to feel like life was a race
And everyone else was moving forward
But I couldn’t even open my eyes to see how far behind I was

Now,
I belt out song lyrics with my friends
I find the joy in little things like arcade games and stolen smiles
Now, I allow myself to have good experiences

I am so much more than what I was
So much more than I used to be
I am now

Hydroplane

Thunder through the devil’s hour
You are the nights awake
Eyes full of ceiling
Bending shadows like trees

Fateful days
Spent in the rain and sleet and snow
Is that where you go?
When the drunken clouds roll
And blackened skies ring forth
Whipping ‘cross your windowpane

You are the bedridden longing
One Mississippi
Two…four
Resounding darkness
Breaths contained
Mind drifting miles away
In like the latch-key
Stumbling down the hall
Caked boots, pristine sheets
Her body alternates
Pitch black; flash of day

Slipping down the overpass
You are the hand squeezed tight
Wide-eyed rearview
Tear-streaked sky

Praying for storm clouds
Beneath fluorescent lights

Blindness of Sight

A stone is a stone, a tree is a tree,
For that is all your eyes can see.

Blocking your vision and tricking you with deceit,
Look beyond the boundaries
you must not accept defeat.

Keep searching until there is no light,
Keep searching until the dead of night.

Search beyond the barricade of reality,
Search into your vivid dreams.

It is your responsibility to decide what is right,
But first you must look beyond the blindness of sight.

A Good Start

The blue turns to gray
Watch the green as it fades
The air we breath is cold and sharp
Feel the earth turn so dark.
Mother nature’s caving in.
There’s too much trash,
No one will win.
But it’s not time to just give in!
Together we must break this sin.
Turtles die because they choke,
Let it in, it’s not a joke!
The world is turning inside out
All we do is talk about
the planet that will slowly die,
I think it’s time we start to try.
Talking ‘bout it, yes is good.
But I believe together we could
change our habits; the way we live.
No one wins unless we give,
A little more than just big speeches
Something that all will believe in
Something that will make a mark
Taking action is a good start.

Best Friends

They’re there when you’re sad,
They’re there when you’re glad,
No matter the place or where you are at.

You’ll never be lonely you’ll have your best friend,
So keep them right with you as you go hand and hand.

They’ll be at your wedding,
They’ll be there when you die,
But if they die first, then you will cry.

They are like your sister watch as you grow see the good and the bad from to and fro.So love your best friend because she’s like your clone cause once she is gone you’ll be all alone.
