Lost in Wonderland
Do I truly belong
where sense makes no sense
and normality is wrong?
But haven’t we all ached for a Wonderland
all along
Hoping to bid societal norms
good bye and so long?

Queen
They say she awaited her knight in shining armor
that she was destined to be rescued
But she wasn’t just a pretty little face
Here’s how the story truly ensued:
Tired of waiting in the tower so tall
She hung her hair on a hook and let the tresses fall
Down the golden mane she slid to the grassy green
She didn’t need a manly savior, for she was a queen.
She was not a trophy to be won
but a beautiful soul to be cherished
No price could ever be placed on
the glow of her face that never diminished.
Voices
The voices inside my head
sing different lyrics to life’s song
One tells me to dwell in strength and hope
another urges me to simply play along
One calls forward to center stage
the cold and calculative human sagacity
And one beckons with a twinge of remorse
the sensitive and senseless heart in me
Rotten love
Once passionate hearts, now gone astray
Our star-crossed love left to decay
“Unforgettable” memories turned old and gray
It seems only our bodies have chosen to stay
To fly
Contaminated by the touch of human hands
his blue tinge crumbled to insubstantial powder
Although the color of his wings had faded
the butterfly still flew, higher and prouder
The Beauty of Peace
The beauty of peace is good, is awesome
The beauty of peace is grateful, is calm
The beauty of peace is all I need, and all I could ask for
The beauty of peace is everything, and it’s all in your hands
The beauty of peace is all over
The beauty of peace is God all around
The beauty of peace, you should love
And the beauty of peace should always be near
Love the beauty of peace
Reticence
A voice
although young and feeble
is as wise and seraphic
as an angel’s
If only that voice
was taught to be proud
To put forward those profundities
up front and out loud
The Mirror of Wishes
We look in the mirror of wishes and see,
Unsatisfaction looking back on thee.
So we go out and get rich
And buy ourselves so much in which,
We wallow around and look again.
There is ourselves, still, with a silly grin.
And yet you still long,
For something is still wrong.
In your life, something missing.
So you go out listening.
For the thing that calls you,
You get rid of your things.
And spread your wings.
Then you find it.
What for so long you sought,
Finally the thing is caught,
In your arms.
Without raising any alarms.
Finally you look in the mirror and see:
Nothing.
What were you missing?
Love.
The Little Dots
when I take a walk
alone at night
I imagine that I
am the only one left
on this vast world
and as I walk I feel so small
the only thing that keeps
me company
are the little dots
I see above me
the empty space engulfs me
and I notice
the planets that
are immense in space
but in the sky
from where I am
they have shrunk
into little grains of sand
and the stars
that brighten the earth
ever so slightly
smirk subtly at me
the seem to whisper
be still
and the thought
of the sky being so big
leaves me breathless
I look up to admire
this night
so beautifully placed
so perfectly placed
and I am reassured
that there are bigger things
then us
out in the corners of
our universe
Duchess
As sweet as can be
she loves to play by the sea
she love to chase the seagulls
and hang with the beagles
She doesn’t like the car
if she were in it she wouldn’t travel far
bitten by three rattle snakes
loves her birthday because of the cake
this dog is also very clever
I would give her up never
