July 4th

July Fourth
July fourth is always fun
Spending time in the sun
Celebrating with food and games
Cheesy burgers leaving greasy stains
Fireworks exploding in the sky
Looking beautiful as they fly
Celebrating children cheer
July fourth is here

Good for you.

You’re a self-fulfilling prophecy.
I’m not the cause but a catalyst
Of everything you already set in motion.
Now you’re late to your own pity party.
We’ve grown bored waiting for you to show up
Take responsibility.

Too bad your heart’s too mutilated to feel even this last
Most shocking, last-ditch desperation.
There’s so much mean in me these days.
My best intentions could make your blood run cold.

Wouldn’t you like to know.
You fancy yourself so intellectual.
We’d all like to imagine ourselves as something superior
One of the gods, even if for only a moment.
Fine then. Enjoy your moment but
pay with everything you’ll never own.
You’ve outgrown the benefit of the doubt.

Does it taste sweet?
Champagne mixed from blood, sweat, and tears
And none of them your own.
Choke on it. Struggle for breath and
despise your own failing lungs.
It’s the closest you’ll ever stumble towards understanding.
There’s no kindness left.
Goodwill has gone and is no sooner returning
Than a sincere word from your mouth.

We’re all fools for you and I know that you know.
The smile in your eyes can’t betray the wicked grin in your mind
While you lay your plans and our dreams bare.
Your law is no more than a piece of thread
To twist and to bend.
You hang our hopes from them
And beat the last drops of will from their broken remains.
Is it fun?

You don’t deserve even the lowest things.
Not a scrap of love left to toss to you.
You are a useless, sinking boat on barren seas
Empty of everything except your own delusions.
Love your hallucinations, then.
I will bleed you dry from the cuts you make
With every bitter word you speak.
Don’t blame me.

The chains you hate are the ones you hold
All your cleverness, has it gotten old?
Struggle all you want
You’re the one who’s always had control.
I’m sure you’d say I’m undeserving of your demands.
A foolish, stupid creature. Just a beast of burden.
Carry the weight of your own words, then.
I refuse to pay the ransom to rescue you from
Your own sinking sands.

Let’s be honest, no one wants amends.

Standing Time

When your merely standing,
time passes, kingdoms fall,
The world changes with every step you take, and each one you don’t.

It adjusts to every vast or even miniscule
force, physical and psychological,
that may come its way.

What lies there, wrapped in an enigma,
hiding in plain sight is the force that you or anyone
can put upon this cocoon of mystery we live on.

I used to but now..

I used to but now..

I use to want to go to the movies,
Now I want to BE in the movies

I used to do gymnastics,
Now I do soccer

I used to be lazy,
Now I want to do everything

I used to be in Pre-k
Now I’m in 6th grade

I used to watch people play music
Now I play music

I used to play with toys
Now I play with friends

I use to but now..

I used to but now..

I use to want to go to the movies,
Now I want to BE in the movies

I used to do gymnastics,
Now I do soccer

I used to be lazy,
Now I want to do everything

I used to be in Pre-k
Now I’m in 6th grade

I used to watch people play music
Now I play music

I used to play with toys
Now I play with friends

Soccer

Soccer

The beautiful game is known as soccer
We play in the day where it gets hotter and hotter
We kick the ball with our feet
We laugh and play, even with defeat
We argue with the ref when we hear a tweet
And when we score
Our feet are sore
This is the beautiful game known as soccer

The Tenth Floor Tradgedy

We were all working as hard as we could
So we could get paid and go home
But one day a fire started
No one noticed until it was to late
This is how it all began

We all had to decide our fate
We had to either burn to death
Or jump to our death
I wasn’t ready to end my life this way
But if this was what god wanted for me
Then i had to accept it

As I headed off into my after life
I looked down at all the mourning families
Who had lost people they loved
And I sent them my faith and sympathy
That is the story of the tenth floor tragedy

My Magic Box

I will put in the box
The whispering of wind through trees
A curtain made of gold
Colors no one has ever seen before.
I will put in the box
A feather from the bird of fire
The wings of a pegasus
A prophecy hiding the fate of the world.
I will put in the box
The brightest star in the galaxy
A starfish from the deepest seas
A silver sunflower that has everything.
I will put in the box
The shadows of those who came before
A priceless chandelier from the poor
The beauty of Autumn, never fading away
My box is accomplished dreams and glittery bubbles
Heavenly lights and sapphires as blue as the ocean
I shall fly in my box
High up in the clouds
Warm and fluffy like cotton candy.
