Christmas tree

My family is a Christmas Tree
My dad is the Christmas tree branches, holding all of our love together
My mom is the ornaments so PRETTY and BRIGHT
My little sister is the candy cane SWEET and COLORFUL
My little brother is the star on the tree, the TIP and CRAZINESS of the family
My Grandma is the leaves putting life on the living tree
My Grandpa is the tinsel of the tree
Wrapping around us in a comforting way
My dogs are the presents giving WARMTH and COLOR and SWEETNESS to
the tree
I am the stem growing our love in the family

CHRISTMAS POEM

Christmas
Christmas is a holiday that I LIKE
Everyone is HAPPY like they just won the lottery
Everyone is EXCITED for Christmas
People spend time with family
The whole family is HAPPY
The decorations glow brightly
Everyone is in the Christmas spirit
Everyone sings Christmas carols like they are in a choir
Christmas

Christmas Time

The time has come to gather with family and celebrate
To regret all the delicious food you ate
To see the family you only see once a year
To have fun with your little cousins and spread Christmas cheer

To open the presents under the big pretty tree
To be nice to others and let go of your grief
To remember the important people you lost
To hope for a shower of white soft Texas frost

But there is more to Christmas to me
Because Christmas is a mountain away from what it used to be
We remember the people that we loved a lot
And we make sure that they don’t get lost in our thoughts

Snow

Snow

Powdered sugar falls to the
ground.
Not fast or rushed
slowly like feathers.

Floating softly
landing on my tongue.
Sweet, Sweet flavor
like ice cream.

Layers upon layers
prepare for the
playful, soft,
footsteps.

The snow whispers
in my ear
Merry Christmas
to you.

Snow.

Cello tritina

Notes flying through the air
It might seem unfair
They sail through your head like nothing was even there

Even if you are there
The notes will pass you as if you were mere air
It might be a little unfair

But it’s not unfair
If you don’t put effort in there
You won’t soar through the air

Beautiful notes in the air, it’s not unfair, even if no one is there watching you play.

One Day

One Day
i’ll look at the world another way
for what it could be
past hate
pollution and wars
and see
that there are better things
there’s a family like a beacon that lights a dim world
sunshine to sweep away sadness
strangers who are angels
i’ll take a chance
to live a golden life
somewhere on my road
One Day

Changes

Walking out of school for summer felt strange
Like a butterfly leaving its cocoon
It’s hard to believe how much I’ve changed

From keeping my mouth shut as a locker
My head tilted down like a half-open laptop
And sadly plopping in my seat

From being called the kid in the back
And the kid in the blue shirt
To them saying Not Jack! The other kid!

I’ve Changed
From those names to my True name
Back to unchanged Chris

I used punctuation in line 9 to emphasize how a voice would sound saying that.
I italicized the word strange in line one because I wanted to stand out by italicizing a word in a sentence full of normal words.

“It” Tritina

The struggle of getting it finished,
Of knowing it’s there but wanting to have fun,
And telling yourself to release all that power.

Watching, waiting, breathing it has the power,
It looks at you as if to say, come get me finished,
It knows your deepest thoughts and says come on this will be fun.

You think eating a horse would be more fun,
Than you here a voice saying you need to have power.
You look at it and RIP OFF THE BAND AID it is finished.

Homework can power over you, but get it finished so you can go have fun.

Again

As the Sun paints the sky with it’s lava brush strokes,
The ocean’s waves continue to kiss the shore,
No matter how many times they’ve been forced away,
Footprints wander along the glimmering sand,
Up above, the silver crescent circles our world once again,
Our wise moon encourages the tides to bubble up on the b between land and sea,

Palm trees sing letting the salty wind brush their hair,
Sea shells wait for us to pluck them off the gritty sand and wear them as a necklace,
The oceans hums as coconuts d

The sky’s fire has gone to sleep,
We say hello to the stars who shine for us,
The world says goodnight,
Drops of Jupiter spill into the midnight sky,
Streaks of Saturn light up the chilly night,
Puddles of Pluto strobe through the clouds,
Morning,
The Sun paints the sky with it’s lava brush strokes,
Again.
