First off, I miss them times where I wasn’t limited to sunshine.
I sit in a cell reminiscing on dark times.
But every night I still pray for better times.
Because I still have the hope in the heart that everything is going to be fine.
Yea, I’ve done been locked up a long time.
But I’m finally to the point where there is more behind me than in front of me.
So now I just hope to get out and be what I want to be.
Black Sunrise
The Black people have been through so much.
We don’t even give ourselves enough recognition for what we’ve accomplished.
A lot of people hate what we have done;
They are astonished if we African Americans come together and fight,
Not with violence, but with our minds that are bright.
We are judged by the color of our skin and talked down on
As if our kind is a sin.
We have so many people who fight for our kind
But we don’t have all the outlets to speak our mind.
We want change,
But we are threatened by some white people to stay in our lanes
We try to love the world and be ourselves
But we are played out like records and put on the shelves.
If we want this to change
We must start now and not let the other kind put us down
Must be in charge for us Black people
Justice for us color people.
Rain
A rumble in the distance,
People running home.
People in a resistance,
To stop today’s storm.
Boom! Crack! Smack!
Thunder roars.
People rush for shelter in a zillion stores.
The yelps of stranded people in the freezing rain.
Farmers cry as their grain,
Soaked in the rain,
Shrivels to bits,
And falls into grit.
Stuck in stores,
Thinking of sunny shores,
Looking through doors,
At the freezing rain.
The world goes dark,
While trees settle in their bark,
People cry,
People snooze.
Stuck in rain,
Such a pain,
To stay inside,
Only to play games.
Only to play video games,
To learn about Colonial Dames,
To stay cooped,
With nothing to do.
Sitting bored,
On a board,
In a store,
On the floor.
Waiting to see clear skies,
Sitting at home,
So bored,
What a torture.
Opposite Of Organized
He wasn’t organized, said the clothes on the floor joined by school papers scattered on the ground.
He was a teenage boy, said the charger cords.
He likes video games, said the pile of cases in the corner.
He loves music, said the broken CD player tucked carefully under the bed.
Alone
I’m alone
No one around
Sad and alone
Not making a sound
I’m alone
No one can be heard
Not even thinking
I can’t say a word
I’m alone
Not single living being
I’m not happy
No one’s listening
I’m alone
No one to talk to
So bored
Wish I could undo
Colors
Colors, colors, colors
Oh there is no other
thing that makes me say oh brother!
Red, orange, yellow
it’s so mellow
so I just say hello
Rainbows and well everything,
Houses, maps, cars, even me.
Colors in all
it’s like ball
that fills you up with happiness.
Day Time Monsters
Monsters at day, don’t like the way
they cannot go to play without running away
just like a deflated parade
they can not stay and wait to be tamed
because they are wild, and
I am a child,
do not say I thought this was a game.
I tried your way but I don’t think the same.
So this is me and I believe, we can be day time monsters.
Forest
Trees and mountains for miles and miles.
It’s something that’ll always make me smile and smile.
Sometimes I see rabbits, hedgehogs or snakes.
Or sometimes I even see frogs in the glistening, sparkling lake.
I see trees , flowers and SO much more.
So I suggest you go spend some time outdoors.
Caterpillar, Caterpillar
Caterpillar, caterpillar on the ground why a frown are you down?
Climbing a tree, why can’t you see? your colors
Are better than a cup of tea. Building your home on a
Branch on a tree can’t you see your better than me. Rest takes
You away well caterpillar see you another
Day. Days passing forever all the way! I’ve lost
Track when you’re away. Flying out of your home you
Look beautiful like you did everyday. Petals and flowers
Bloom on you it looks like you found the perfect way.
Butterfly butterfly see you another day.
My Love.
My legs hanging from the rim
I force myself up from my bed
Did it last?
Just like you said
I don’t welcome the memories of you
Your warm smile, or true eyes.
Only what you left me with
Dark cold feelings, filled with cries
Your calloused hands against mine,
I miss the days we spent together
You in my arms, long hair waving goodbye
You were my rock, and I was your tether.
I don’t beg for pity, or anger, or sadness.
But for you, just once more
In my arms, showing me warmth
Don’t let this battle turn into a war.
I love you
Is it too much to ask?
For just a little more back?
I love you I say, but you wear a mask.
I walk down the hall, back to my kitchen.
Filled with only you, why?
I have to get out of my head.
Why can’t I just die?
For you,
I thrive and oblige,
My one love,
You keep me trapped forever in siege
I run out the door
Running for what?
Feelings, romance?
Just give me a chance?
Down the street,
Down the next ally
When will I see you
Kiss you shall I
Just take me in your arms
I beg
Please, once more
I love you. Meg
