A Familiar Rhyme for the Darkest of Times

In the dark of the night,
a bark, a bite.

The whooosh of cool night breeze,
shakes the grasses and trees.

A comforting glance from the Moon
saying: don’t worry girl, you’ll be there soon…

Granny’s silent wails
wags like wolfs tails…

I rush in and see, to my dismay,
through the forced open doors, the       wolf       got       away.

Granny’s blood stains my now Red hood,
and I vow my vengeance to that wolf in the wood.

Alone

We are all alone
Adrift in a sea of nothingness
We reach out for help
Only to find nothing
Alone in a sad small world

We think we are safe and we can do nothing
We think we can solve all the problems
So we dream big and soar high
But Death’s cold hands reach out to pull us back down
His hands as cold as a bucket of ice water

Pulling us back down to nothing

Day becomes night
Light becomes dark
We are born alone
And we die alone
Everything fades away

Surrounded by nothing

A Hero’s Purpose

They fought for their and our freedom
It’s a debt we can’t repay
Their loyalty for the country
Gives us pride in many different ways
They got us our rights
They stopped people who told us what to do
They worked hard and won the fights
There is nothing they have to prove
Now the flag waves
With red, white, and blue
Respecting all the braves
For the ones who are true.

Mermaids

Half fish,
Half Girl, Scales as shiny as a pearl,
In the Ocean and on land,
On the beach playing with sand,
Never can show their identity,
Why?
Let me tell you it’s a surprise!!!
Public maybe put her in an aquarium,
Maybe even in an auditorium!
Swimming around,
Touching the deep bottom ground,
Hear their sound,
“SWISH SPLASH SWISH,’’
Their tails are as orange as pumpkins,
Or as they call it “SUNKINS,”
Mythical creatures with awesome features,

Halloween Night

Thunder and lightning on Halloween night
Oh! It gives me such a fright
The hooting of the owl
I can hear the zombies’ growl
The chilly wind blows
My blood flow slows
The Witches are casting spells
I can hear the graveyard’s bells
I try to go back to sleep
I can hear a meep
I finally go to snooze
Hoping I won’t wake up with a bruise

Green

Green is a hopping frog on the riverbank!
Green is a tree dancing in the wind.
Green is like a praying mantis.
Green is like a flying leaves!
Green tastes lettuce crunching in my mouth!
Green smells like green frosting on a birthday cake.
Green sounds like exploding creepers!
Green feels like green spiky moss!
Green looks like green grass!
Green makes me feel scared!
Green is like green crayons coloring a green dino!

Texas

The longhorn state is awesomely great,
The food is SO WELL ,
It is soo hard to tell,
Austin is the best,
So different than the rest,
If you want to see,
Go to corpus christi,
The sun will set,
The sun will rise,
What encounters is a surprise,
Time to go to New York City
We will be back in a jiffy!

Winter

Winter is the soft snow on my arm
Winter is the scent of warm, steamy hot chocolate on the table
Winter is the time of hats, scarves, mittens, an jackets
Winter is the time of warm and cozy socks near the fire
Winter is the festive holiday lights hanging up on walls
Winter is the carols upon the door
Winter is the smell of the pine trees drifting into your nose
Winter is cuddling with my pets
But most of all, Winter is love.
