As far as you go

You can sail across the seven seas,
Feel the oceans wispy breeze,
Climb like a monkey from tree to tree,

Travel around the world with me,
Surf the waves of the sea,
Feel the arctics cold cold freeze,

Enjoy the outside with the bees,
Be one with the trees.

But please oh please never forget
Forever and forever
As far as you go
There’s no place like home.

my sorrows, my surety, my star

At night,
when I am cold and scared,
my grandmother comes.
She’s the only one to comfort me.

Her small, intelligent eyes,
always looking at the page of a book
with strange letters I don’t understand.
Except A, the start of my name.
Her thin, dark hair streaked with gray,
tied in a tight bun
put together with a carefully carved stick,
perhaps by someone she loved very dearly.
Her worn, hard hands
curled around mine,
barely bigger than her palm.

She’d say,
“You remind me of your father, you know,
the way you’d climb onto that windowsill,
insisting on seeing the stars.”
Or,
“You are just like your mother, you know,
the way you eat your dinner.
I remember, having her over sometimes.
It always saddens me that you never got to meet them.”

Tonight,
I am cold and scared,
wearing a black dress and clutching a book, damp from tears.
I stare at the sky as if looking for something.
The wind screeches, the leaves cackle, the stars are empty of light.
There is no one to comfort me tonight.

Hawaii

Hawaii is a dream come true
With amazing views
We woke up to the sound of waves crashing
Swoosh
The water is like a clear crystal
The food was a ten out of ten
The sand felt like you were on the sun
But the sand was soft
The air felt fresh
The palm trees were pretty
But the plane ride was long
It felt like a year
But I don’t regret it
Because it was worth it

imagine

imagine being
trapped in a zoo,
with all the strangers
perusing you.

imagine watching
life behind bars,
with all your dreams
entangled into jars.

imagine having
no one to turn to,
ROAR! makes your heart jump,
so loud, so true.

imagine craving
just to be free.
but maybe it’s not imagination,
maybe it’s Me.

Wild And Free

My feet sink into the muddy grass,
I hear my pony’s feet going click clack,

When I open the gate I see his face,
Coming to greet me wild and free,

We walk to the barn to get tacked up,
His cute little face covered in muck,

My little pony:

As cute as can be,

I love seeing him,

Running…

Wild.
And.
Free.

The changing of Seasons

You hang there contently listening to the wind
Not wanting to let go
Not wanting it to end
But life just goes on the stem starting to bend
You hold on to this moment
Not wanting to descend

Life is not fair
It has no merci
It will not spare
You hang on for dear life
But your time will dare
You fall from the tree a helpless little thing
Your world does not care

As you fall you wonder
What will become of me
You look up at your old home
The swaying oak tree

You hit the ground
A new world by far
Not a single sound
You sit and you sit the earth covering you so
Long years go by but your time comes bound

You are ready to grow
You reach up touching the light
Your time has come and now you know
You are part of nature and as a tree you will grow

You may fall in you journey
And life may scorn
But changes will happen
And you can morn
Or you can go up against change
And rise up adorn

What am I

I never stop moving
I stretch beyond the horizon
I can be peaceful and tranquil
Or I can be destructive and harmful
I am the home to many lives
I am calm and agile
The sparkling sun reflects to make me shimmer and shine
That shows off everything of mine
People come to me to have fun
And to have a nice day in the sun
What am I?

lost

i left
Not expecting a new companion,
Then i saw You
You lay, peaceful as a calm lake.

i called out to You,
You came.
i found You,
We found each other.

You were my sunshine.
i loved You.
SUDDENLY,
You were taken away.

i lost You,
we lost each other.

Underneath the Water

You gracefully landed on the ground-
gliding across the lake.
Hearing nothing but silence and the
sound of water.
With elegant costumes, to beautiful
feathers, and long necks- showing
poise and grace.
But you are two faced every single
night you might fall, sweat bleed,
while underneath you are pattling,
and swishing the water underneath
you.
But, graceful on stage.

A Familiar Rhyme for the Darkest of Times

In the dark of the night,
a bark, a bite.

The whooosh of cool night breeze,
shakes the grasses and trees.

A comforting glance from the Moon
saying: don’t worry girl, you’ll be there soon…

Granny’s silent wails
wags like wolfs tails…

I rush in and see, to my dismay,
through the forced open doors, the       wolf       got       away.

Granny’s blood stains my now Red hood,
and I vow my vengeance to that wolf in the wood.
