Where I’m From

Where I’m From

I am from Hogwarts,
From gryffindor common room.
I’m from moaning myrtle’s bathroom,
From the polyjuice potion.

I’m from two muggle parents,
From one muggle “brother.”
I’m from the cupboard,
Under the stairs.
I’m from the zoo,
Where i talked to the snake.

I’m from the quidditch pitch,
Where we beat Slytherin and Hufflepuff.
From the locker room,
Where toms diary was stolen.

I’m from the Chamber of Secrets,
where I rescued Ginny,
where i fought Tom Riddle,
“aka Lord Voldemort.”
Where I stabbed the basilisk,
Where I saved Hogwarts

Dress Code Problem

“You can go, you can go”.
Friday
Free dress day
No cruddy uniform

My turn,
I was wearing leggings,
“You can go,
WAIT”.

“You need to change”
Embarrassed,
Mom was called,
Meeting with “Her”

Mom asked questions,
Dress code questions,
2 times before,
I had worn leggings

Time skip
2 weeks later
Friday
Free dress day

My friends,
Littler,
Skinnier,
Than me.

Redemption

It’s dark.
Like really dark.
So dark I feel trapped underwater drowning.

The damp moss is making my skin wet,
Its frigid feeling crawling up my legs.
The moss is salty and wet,

The mist around hangs with my tears.
Making the room cool,
Sending chills up my spine.

Millions of shadows loom over me,
Not real people,
But it feels like it.
They circle me, like ghosts,
Mocking me over what I’ve done.

Their wide grins of laughter,
Their long frowns of hatred,
Sneering cruelfully.

A tiny shimmer of light glows ahead.
The shadows retreat,
Fleeing to their darkness.

The light, like a small candle in the dark,
Its radiance so bright,
Held something bright out towards me.

And for a brief second, I thought I saw a hand out of the light.
Calling out to me.
And for a brief second, I could have reached for it.
It’s fingers grasping.
And for a brief second, I think I did.

Ephesians 1:7: “In him, we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace”

My Happy Place

The ocean breeze blew in my face
Filling my nose with a salty smell
The summer sun would shine all day
Until it finally fell

Then the sun was unlocked by a key
And it would shine as proud as a queen
The waves pulled in treatures lost in the sea
Waiting to be found by me.

My bare feet walked across the land
Getting covered
in all the SAND
The salty water would come
and wash it all away carying

The it was time to leave
And all the memories were left at sea.

Christmas

And so this is Christmas
The world’s upside down
Overflowing with cheer
Presents are found

The trees are gleaming
Merry Christmas playing too loud
Untangling strands of lights
A sleigh high in the clouds

The stockings first
Then you head to the tree
The lights so bright
The present with the the red bow, Just for me

Christmas dinner is next
A long table filled with goodies and treats
“Eat your dinner first!”
“And then time for sweets.”

And so this is Christmas.

Clouds

The clouds were feather pillows
resting on the blue bed sheet
inside of the pillow
in a little boys room
flying high with joy
with the softness
of the white cotton
forming shapes in the sky
The warm puffy stuff
in the cuddly sky
and the delicate little
feather on the bed
come together tonight

The Girl Outside The Window

The girl outside the window sat there
SHE SAT THERE mesmerized
By the rain
Drip

Drip

Drip
As she sat there
A smile
Tugged at her bleeding lips
The longer she sat there
More stories filled her eyes
A man yelled something at her
An she stop sitting in the
Rain
The storys in her eyes
Retreated to where the were before
She ran inside and to my suprise
Even in the
Rain
She never came out of that house
again

Je T’aime (Ode to Kes)

Young One.
Just know at one point,
Life will seem hard,
Nothing works as it used to,
Nothing is the same.
Just remember,
The world hasn’t stopped spinning and twirling,
The stars have yet to fall from the Heavens,
And your big sister is always looking out for you.
Little one,
Please don’t forget that for me.
My love for you is inevitable,
Always and forever shall you be my little angel.
I’ll love you,
When you blame yourself for hate and shame.
I’ll love you every sunrise and sunset,
Nightfall and Daybreak.
Every once in a while,
Let me shield you from what you can’t bear.
Help you fight the battles,
You can’t seem to win.
My Little Angel,
The one I can’t get over,
My little bro,
Always and forever,
Je t’aime.

Giant Rocks

2 hour drive
To a place with mountains
And giant rocks
Filled with nature

I didin’t have high hopes
I like to stay inside
But this trip changed my mind
Something I haven’t experienced before

The feeling of outdoors
Filled my heart
Made me energized
Ready to go further

As we climbed higher and higher
The wind blew and blew
I decided to throw a rock
I could hear the echoes down the hill

When we got to the top
My heart screamed
I felt free
“This wasn’t a bad trip afterall” I said smiling

Snow

The Heavy rain pounded
On the window frame
Through the night
Everything seemed to stay the same

Then suddenly a stop, a halt
Silence all throughout the house
Then white flakes
Fell, tiptoeing silent as a mouse

The frozen drops, white as paper
Fell on the grass
As ice reached out,
Covering the glass

Reaching out for something new
The white, painted blanket
Covered all the town
